Recovery Colleges offer a different way of thinking about the fundamental processes that underlies mental healthcare. The recovery educational model used in Recovery Colleges focuses directly on helping people (students) pursue their preferred life goals by focusing on their strengths and encouraging them to develop their own understanding of their difficulties, self-management and other necessary skills and resources. .

Re-ED is an ecological model that views the person as inseparable from the community and social context. Recovery impacts the different settings of the person’s life space through careful coordination of care. Re-ED is strength-based, emphasizing the person’s assets and the importance of relationships while structure is holistic and is concerned with physical, spiritual and mental health aspects. Re-ED focuses on the strengths inherent in each person, employing a variety of approaches to problem solving.
Making Dreams Real's mission is to transition and give hope to adults dealing with mental illness, substance abuse, homelessness, unemployment and incarceration issues by loving them into wholeness through a holistic approach of developing relationships and improving their self-esteem.
A mental health residential recovery behavior modification program is a dire need for Grayson County. Currently at this time, individuals released from jail or a behavioral health center after a mental health crisis are without a single residential care option.
