Imagine then, the difficulties faced by those who have backgrounds or personal circumstances that further complicate their job search success, i.e., mental or physical obstacles, past criminal incidents, homelessness, etc.
By participating and completing the program requirements at the Career One-Stop, the participants will gain an understanding of how to deal with their unique circumstances. CURRICULA: CAREER ONE-STOP
The Art and Science of Employment encompasses the many aspects of preparing for employment, securing employment and maintaining and growing in that employment. Specialized training and instruction will include the full gamut of topics considered to be essential by all employment experts. To successfully function in the local labor market, most students will require specialized assistance in one or more of these critical areas. Learning the “how-to’s”, the “do’s” and the “don’ts”, the “who”, “when”, “where” and “why’s” of these job search components are critical to experiencing job success, both now and in the future:
The Art and Science of Self-Improvement requires the development of a specialized skill-set that prepares the person mentally and emotionally to utilize their job search skills effectively. Developing Life Skills (dealing with budgeting, personal finances, credit repair, goal setting, critical thinking, etc.) and Problem-solving Skills (dealing with housing, transportation, child-care and various other emergencies), will enable the student to be both a more successful job applicant as well as better prepared for a long-term successful career.
