By successfully completing the curricula, students will not only become more productive and responsible individuals but better citizens of their communities as well. The 100-hour curriculum addresses all key areas of a successful job search - “Art and Science of Employment”.Additionally, equal emphasis will be placed upon the emotional, psychological and mental preparedness of students for the world of work - “Art and Science of Self-Improvement”. Together, the coursework will provide students with the knowledge, the tools, the confidence and the assistance necessary to compete successfully for gainful employment now and throughout their working careers.
Designed to deal effectively and positively with each individual’s personal circumstances, the curricula can be completed at the student’s own pace, dependent upon that student’s situation and availability. Additionally, all students are provided on-going assistance and services from the CAREER ONE-STOP for as long as they choose. No dead-line. No time limit. And, no expiration date.
WHY USE THE CAREER ONE-STOP? Making positive life changes and obtaining a new or even a better job are not easy things to do. THEY REQUIRE WORK – real WORK. In fact, it is usually very time-consuming and labor-intensive while requiring a particular skill set along with the help of others.
Even highly qualified and experienced applicants often times experience difficulties securing employment and thereby solicit professional help. Imagine then, the difficulties faced by those who have backgrounds or personal circumstances that further complicate their job search success, i.e., mental or physical obstacles, past criminal incidents, homelessness, etc.
By participating and completing the program requirements at the CAREER ONE-STOP, the participants will gain an understanding of how to deal with their unique circumstances. CURRICULA: CAREER ONE-STOP The Artand Science of Employmentencompasses the many aspects of preparing for employment, securing employment and maintaining and growing in that employment. Specialized training and instruction will include the full gamut of topics considered to be essential by all employment experts. To successfully function in the local labor market, most students will require specialized assistance in one or more of these critical areas. The Art and Science of Self-Improvementrequires the development of a specialized skill-set that prepares the person mentally and emotionally to utilize their job search skills effectively.
